RAIN Incubator: RAIN works to attract create and or retain small life-science and biotechnology companies in the Tacoma area. RAIN provides access to laboratory spaces networking technical support and consulting. In 2024 three companies utilized RAINs laboratory spaces. These companies focused on biotechnology logistics contract protein production environmental technologies and process chemistry. These young companies provide internships and essential industry experience for students. This promotes strong relationships that help keep these companies local. RAIN also has a commercial kitchen and during 2024 RAIN hosted six food vendors who sell products at local farmers and night markets. These small food companies are vibrant members of the Tacoma small business community who create jobs and contribute to the high quality of life in the South Sound region.
