Other initiatives include Mardi Bras VA which connects people to organizations who serve women who are homeless, incarcerated and on a low or restricted income, communicate to and educate the general public on the plight of women in need and collect items to give to organizations that are direct service providers to these women in need. We collected thousands of bras, underwear, pads and tampons who are in need, such as women experiencing homelessness, low or no income and incarcerated women. Also minsitering with individuals in the neighborhoot of Southern Barton Heights, a community 1/2 mile from the largest public housing complex in Richmond, VA and others outside the neighborhood.
