Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation was established to assist in developing long-term viability for local healthcare. From the beginning, it prioritized workforce stability by funding scholarships for individuals pursuing careers in healthcare. In 2019, the Board expanded its mission to include The Hope Fund. Since its inception, the fund has assisted many individuals with medication, durable medical equipment, and travel assistance.Building on this evolution (from workforce development to direct patient support) the Foundation took its next step in 2025 by establishing the Community Initiative Fund, (Statement continued on Schedule O)designed to strengthen community-based efforts that address health needs upstream and improve overall wellbeing across the region. The fund provides small, one-time grants to public entities, nonprofits, and community organizations serving Carroll, Chariton, Livingston, and Lafayette Counties. Funding priorities include social determinants of health, mental health and substance use disorder, and chronic disease prevention. Awards are intended to help launch, expand, or strengthen initiatives that create meaningful, measurable impact for our communities.
