. Professional Theatre Productions Green Room Theatre Company continued its mission to make theatre accessible to all residents of the Coachella Valley. We presented three productions: As You Like It Maggie Magalita and Displacement: Stories from Section 14 reaching approximately 850 community members. We remained committed to accessibility by offering pay-what-you-can pricing free ticket options performances in central community locations and bilingual productions to reach diverse audiences. Displacement: Stories from Section 14 was a fully devised original production by Green Room Theatre Company created in collaboration with two playwrights two researchers and an ensemble of 18 actors technical designers and crew members. The production was developed with the involvement of survivors of the Section 14 displacement in 1960s Palm Springs bringing to life an often-overlooked local history and amplifying voices from the community.

Theatre Literacy and Folklorico Education Programs We provided theatre literacy workshops to over 600 students in partnership with Desert Sands Unified School District and the Riverside County Read with Me Program. Students engaged in script analysis character breakdowns and thematic discussions developing critical thinking skills and a deeper appreciation for theatre. In spring 2024 we launched a community folklorico class in association with Desert Recreation District serving the underserved community of Thermal. Sponsored by the RAP Foundation the program has already taught 12 students and employed two instructors. Our students regularly perform at community events celebrating cultural traditions through dance.

3. Expanded Learning Opportunities Program ELOP - Ballet Folklorico and Theatre In partnership with Desert Sands Unified School District we continued our ELOP ballet folklorico programming. Our team led 12 classes across six schools serving approximately 250 students. The program provided employment for 13 artists technicians and instructors contributing to the local arts economy. Students received full costumes and dance shoes which remain the property of their schools ensuring continued participation in the program. Our students performed for their schools families and communities with total audience attendance reaching approximately 1,500 people. This program was funded by the State of California ELOP program allowing us to sustain and expand our impact.
