Oil and gas methane:Supported Carbon Limits work with Quadrature Climate Foundation on their work on development of a methane inventory tool. CHeRN provided consultation and document review and submission. Work conducted by Carbon Limits covered:Deployment support, which targeted companies with the highest abatement potential and at early stages of their methane journey by providing support to highlight the value of a methane inventory, carrying out pilot deployments for assets, and offering next steps in the road to mitigation. Product management to cover the various costs associated with Mist as a software solution including hosting, maintenance, the user guide, user management, helpdesk support, bug fixing, and improvements of its functionality to enhance adoption.Supported Carbon Limits as a fiscal agent, team member and liaison with funder to use satellite data to identify sources and reduction opportunities of methane super emitters. With Imagery from GHGSat Inc., the project team analyzed 3,443 emission detections from satellite and identified methane super emitters in 37 countries. Costs for methane reductions were calculated for major sources. EmPower: Participated in and supported the Nepal Empowerment Project aimed at addressing the significant failures often seen when technologies are introduced into a development setting. In 2024, CHeRN served as a fiscal agent and team partner to 1) deliver training and services to Nepalese Municipal Energy Development Sub-Committees (EDSCs) to enable EDSC members to make conscious efforts and decisions to prepare socially-inclusive and gender-sensitive Municipal Energy Plans (MEPs) and, 2) evaluate the effectiveness of the emPOWER* as a tool that supports, influences and effectively contributes to inclusive energy plans. CHeRN also served on the Steering Committee, meeting by Zoom monthly, to consider the power structure ad gender-based challenges that are faced when trying to broaden individuals perspectives of life options and opportunities.Engaged with team of people to move a transformative, zero-carbon energy -- the GERA/ACE engine. We worked with the technology inventor to to move the concept and raise funds and review materials to move the technology. In 2024, CHeRN participated in multiple meetings, reviewed materials, and conducted outreach to interested parties.
