The Social and Emotional Learning program runs throughout the course of Access Opportunity's 6-year program and is led by a team of social workers and counselors who provide direct service to students via one-on-one counseling and check-ins, as well as through group sessions. A particular focus of the SEL program is to support first-generation-to-college students with navigating the transition into college and identifying campus resources in order to help ensure that students make a successful transition from high school to college. The SEL program also includes a peer mentorship program as well as family engagement programming that partners and shares resources with families on their students' goals so they feel empowered to help their students reach those goals.
