Mission

Our mission is to take Maine Veterans to Washington DC to see the Memorials erected in their honor. Honor Flight Maine is a non-profit, all volunteer, organization that exists for that sole purpose. On average, Honor Flight Maine takes 3-5 trips a year to Washington DC. Memorials visited with Veterans so that they may tour, experience and reflect include WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Navy, Marines, and Air Force, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery with the changing of the guard, and the Women's Military Museum. Extra events such as trips to Fort Meade and Fort McHenry may be included depending on weather and logistics. HFM covers expenses (for the veterans) for round trip air, 2 nights at the Hilton (BWI), bus transportation and all meals. Wheelchairs are provided to transport those Veterans needing assistance.
