The Center for Relationship Education (CRE) envisions a world where individuals of all ages experience positive relationships that are thriving. CRE accomplishes its mission, Providing relationship education skills training to everyone, through both Trainer of Trainer (TOT) curriculum certifications and grant-funded social initiatives and direct services. Relationship education is a crucial component of cultivating connection in a disconnected world. CRE approaches this problem at the root, utilizing its REAL (Relationship Education and Leadership) Essentials curricula products and programming. REAL Essentials brings foundational relationship skills to people of all ages and walks of life, in order to create understanding and effective communication in schools, workplaces, and at home. In 2023, 1500 Colorado high school students received 12 hours of relationship skills training, delivered by CREs Ready2Relate Project, a federally funded program which highlights strategies for building and enhancing connection among 7 Critical Learning Components: communication, conflict resolution, stress and anger, decision making and negotiation, intimacy and affection, marriage knowledge, and financial literacy. An additional 650 high school students received relationship skills training targeting lesson content proven to help students excel toward, and achieve, their lifes dreams through another grant-funded social initiative, titled Livin The Dream (LTD). LTD students learned evidence-based practices for avoiding high-risk behaviors that can create barriers on their path toward life success. Adult learners also benefitted from CREs relationship skills training resources this year. Nearly 300 local military and/or emergency responder couples participated in one of 6 annual Responding to Relationships (RTR) retreat series events, designed to equip this population with proven tools for building, enhancing, or repairing relationships impacted by high-stress and demanding vocational roles. Nationally, CRE certified 586 educators in its TOT certification model, credentialing teachers, health professionals, and counselors, to utilize its REAL Essentials (Relationship Education and Leadership) products and programming to impact local communities. The Center for Relationship Education shines a spotlight on the role that successful relationships play in leading happy, healthy lives. CRE combines evidence-based, proven effective curricula with facilitator training and certification to bring relationship skills to more audiences and ultimately strengthen schools, workplaces, and communities. Above all, CRE makes it simple and fun for anyone to learn more about themselves and their relationships.
