STAND T.A.L.L. in 2025 provided funding for the acquisition of K-9s for three law enforcement departments in western NC. We raised and donated more than $30,000 for the purchase of three dogs, their related training and the highly specialized equipment to protect and maintain the K-9s and their handlers within those departments. In addition, STAND T.A.L.L. sponsored seven K-9 handlers to the International K-9 Training Conference held in September in Nashville, TN. This annual event provides the handlers with the opportunity to learn new techniques and view the latest in technology and equipment specifically for the management and deployment of these highly trained dogs.

STAND T.A.L.L. donated $6,500 to sponsor members of local area law enforcement to attend two annual enhanced training conferences held in western North Carolina. The first of these conferences was for the School Resource Officers who provide on-site protection and support to local area public schools. With threats at schools throughout the nation increasing, learning the latest strategies and techniques for protecting our children is a high priority for law enforcement. We at STAND T.A.L.L. feel strongly about supporting this effort. The second annual conference is for the personnel who work in Emergency Dispatch. The conference provides mental health support, as well as current strategies to enhance the skill sets of these professionals who are the first point of contact when a situation is called in on the 9-1-1 phone system for law enforcement or medical emergencies.

STAND T.A.L.L. is one of the top sponsors of the annual Shop With a Hero Christmas event that provides physically, mentally and economically challenged elementary students with $120 Gift Cards to be used at Wal-Mart on the day of the event. The 100 children that attend from the Henderson County Elementary Schools are selected by their teachers, counselors and social workers within the schools. The children are accompanied on their shopping spree by a member of law enforcement, firefighters and fire rescue, and Board members of STAND T.A.L.L. to select gifts for Christmas for their families and themselves. The gifts are wrapped and sent with the children back to their schools after the event is done. STAND T.A.L.L. has been a major contributor to this event for the past four years.
