Health Equity: While addressing the lingering impacts of the pandemic continues to be a key issue for the ACER Health Equity team, we have been building a more holistic approach to eliminating health disparities in our community. Economic and Community Development: The work of ACER's ECD program is to support Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) small and micro-business owners that are the economic backbone of diverse communities in the Northwest suburbs. This goal has been achieved through policy advocacy at the state and local level, education and networking events with community members and business leaders, our continued free technical assistance for small businesses, as well as connecting business owners to training and mentorship programs.
