Housing Justice: With the ending of the State's Rental Assistance program, the housing landscape in Minnesota has become increasingly unstable. ACER's goal is to guarantee Just Housing for our community members through policy advocacy, community partnership, and resource distribution. ACER's approach to Housing Justice in 2022 focused on building up renter protection communities, successfully advocating for tenant protections at the city level, and convening several housing education events.

Economic and Community Development: The work of ACER's ECD program is to support Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) small and micro-business owners that are the economic backbone of diverse communities in the Northwest suburbs. This goal has been achieved through policy advocacy at the state and local level, education and networking events with community members and business leaders, our continued free technical assistance for small businesses, as well as connecting business owners to training and mentorship programs.
