MORE THAN A BED (MTAB) PROVIDES ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO FOSTER, KINSHIP AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES OUT OF ITS TWO WAREHOUSES LOCATED IN TUCSON, ARIZONA. WAREHOUSE ONE IS A 5000 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING WHERE QUALIFIED FAMILIES CAN SHOP AT NO CHARGE FOR THE CHILDREN IN THEIR HOMES. THE WAREHOUSE OFFERS NEW TWIN BEDS, BUNK BEDS, DIAPERS, UNDERWEAR, NEW AND USED CRIBS, TODDLER BEDS, DRESSERS, TOYS, CAR SEATS, CLOTHING, SHOES AND BEDDING. WAREHOUSE TWO IS A 2500 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING WHERE OUR OFFICES ARE LOCATED, ALL DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED AND SORTED, AND NEW BEDS, OUT OF SEASON CLOTHING AND TOYS ARE STORED. WE PROVIDE BEDS AS NEEDED FOR THE CHILDREN PLACED IN OUT-OF-HOME CARE. FROM 07/01/2023 - 06/30/2024, WE PROVIDED 130 CRIBS/TODDLER BEDS, 403 TWIN BEDS AND 43 BUNK BEDS. IN ADDITION, WE ALSO PROVIDED 294 CAR SEATS, 80 DRESSERS, 2,228 PACKS OF DIAPERS, 5,388 PAIRS OF SHOES, 1,331 PACKS OF UNDERWEAR, AND 18,138 NEW AND USED TOYS. THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE SERVED 1,067 FAMILIES AND 2,958 CHILDREN. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED NUMEROUS DONATIONS OF NEW AND GENTLY USED ITEMS TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO ITS CLIENTS. DURING 07/01/2023 - 06/30/2024, $626,830 OF BEDS, CRIBS, CAR SEATS, STROLLERS, DRESSERS AND CLOTHING WERE RECEIVED FROM DONORS, AND $770,034 IN ITEMS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO CLIENTS. MORE THAN A BED ALSO STRIVES TO INITIATE PROGRAMS OR PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER NONPROFITS THAT WILL BENEFIT THE CHILDREN EVEN MORE. THREE OF THOSE INITIATIVES ARE: (1) TO PROVIDE ANY NEEDED CLOTHING, HYGIENE, SHOES, OR HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO TEENS 18-21 THAT ARE STILL UNDER DCS OVERSIGHT - ARIZONA YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM (AYAP), TILP PROGRAM ETC; (2) A CHRISTMAS EVENT TO PROVIDE THE CHILDREN WITH ENTERTAINMENT, A PICTURE WITH SANTA AND GIFTS; AND (3) A GOLF TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER TO INCREASE VISIBILITY FOR MTAB AND TO RAISE MONEY TO CONTINUE SERVING THE CHILDREN.
