THE INTERNATIONAL BEIT DIN OPERATES AS A GLOBAL JEWISH COURT OF LAW DEDICATED TO RESOLVING CASES OF JEWISH DIVORCE AND FREEING WOMEN WHO ARE AGUNOT - THOSE CHAINED TO MARRIAGES DUE TO GETT REFUSAL OR COERCIVE CONTROL BY A SPOUSE. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO RESTORE THE APPLICATION OF CLASSIC HALACHIC PRINCIPLES IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH JUSTICE, COMPASSION, PROCEDURAL FAIRNESS, AND A TRAUMA-INFORMED UNDERSTANDING OF ABUSE. THROUGH ITS WORK, IBD PROVIDES A FORUM WHERE WOMEN ARE HEARD, SUPPORTED, AND GUIDED THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE, HALACHICALLY GROUNDED PROCESS TO SECURE A GETT OR, WHEN APPROPRIATE, OBTAIN A HALACHIC DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE.PROGRAM SERVICES ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE AND INCLUDE THE SUPPORT OF TRAINED FEMALE CASEWORKERS WHO ACCOMPANY CLIENTS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, ENSURING BOTH PROCEDURAL JUSTICE AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. ALL PROCEEDINGS ARE CONDUCTED WITH SENSITIVITY, CONFIDENTIALITY, AND PROFESSIONALISM, CREATING A SAFE, EFFECTIVE, AND COMPASSIONATE PATHWAY FOR INDIVIDUALS SEEKING RELIEF FROM ABUSIVE OR COERCIVE MARITAL SITUATIONS.
