FLY Girl Institue served 37 active youth ages 11-17 and 78 community members, including educators, school administrators, law enforcement and juvenile court personnel during the fiscal year. Youth programming included trauma-informed healing circles, weekly mentorship, cultural enrichment and identity development activities delivered across two Nashville sites. Professional development training was provided to community partners. Key outcomes included a 92% program attendance rate, significant reductions in disciplinary incidents and recidivism among justice-involved participants and the majority of youth consistently applying coping tools in their daily lives. FLY Girl Institute partners with the University of TN College of Social Work to contribute to research and data on wellness for girls of color and has trained over 1,000 educators and justice personnel since 2014.
