Village Life Improvements: VHP operates with the goal of improving the living conditions and wellbeing of impoverished villagers in rural Nepal. The organization has undertaken a variety of projects designed to have initial investment with lasting, sustainable benefits. Project examples include funding fish ponds and livestock startups (such as goats, chickens, etc). These projects provide both nutritional food sources as well as ongoing income. Other infrastructure projects have included funds for a village block building machine, construction of outhouses and sanitation improvement in many villages, and water storage facilities. Other examples include sewing classes and provision of sewing machines for home use and developing business use. VHP has also funded literacy classes, giving villagers the ability to read and increasing their options for employment, as well as increasing overall confidence and well-being.The decision regarding the type of projects for any given village is the result of meetings between the VHP Coordinator and village leaders to discuss what the organization can do to most effectively help the village community. The project is proposed to Village Hope Partnership and is done with the consent of the village. In this manor, VHP has helped hundreds of villages, and is aiming for projects improving conditions in at least 10% (approximately 400) of the rural village communities in Nepal.

Education and Vocational TrainingAt the request of village leaders, the Foundation provided teachers to teach literacy and job skills to give many people a better chance to provide for their families. The Foundation started several classes in literacy and classes in sewing. In the case of sewing, upon completing the training people are given their own sewing machine and supplies to start their own business or make clothes for themselves. The Foundation provided financial support for village children who had not been able to attend public school due to the lack of funds for supplies or proper clothing.
