The Green Living Foundation serves a rural area; residential options that permit the area's senior citizens to remain in the area are limited. The need for independent living facilities was initially identified in a Community Health Needs Assessment commissioned by Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in 2010. Green Living is focused on developing and operating a senior independent living project, and its related programs, in support of the Medical Center's community healthcare mission, and other community health initiatives. By administering an independent living program designed and operated to furnish care and housing to aged individuals in a manner that addresses their unique needs for housing, healthcare, and financial security, Green Living provides the area's senior citizens the needed option to remain in the area.
