In 2024, The Movements year-long collaboration with The Black List and Ladder Artist, Marco Antonio Rodriguez, culminated in a workshop of WALK-IN, with director Ryan Dobrin and a cast of nine. We presented Act 1 to a full house at Playwrights Horizons Sharp Theater and hosted our first Speak(easy), a party and conversation with our artists to speak freely about their craft with supporters and community members. Rodriguez and The Black Lists Franklin Leonard discussed his artistic journey and the impact of receiving a commission. We revived our Harlem Nights Program with our MONOLOGUE SLAM: #THATS MY JAM at Silvana in Harlem, showcasing 12 actors before an industry panel. Junes TAKING UP SPACE residency at Playwrights Horizons featured a co-working space, 1MOVE where 5 multidisciplinary artists created a digital work in response to the theme of solidarity, a workshop and Speak(easy) with Sam Hamashima and their new play, TAMAGO, and a Pride Party. We also built capacity by hiring Associate Producer Alverneq Lindsay, engaged and embarked on a strategic plan with consultant Dafina McMillan, and celebrated Drama League and Drama Desk nominations.
