AnnieCannons supports survivors of human trafficking by training them in software engineering and connecting them with high-demand technology careers. In 2024, AnnieCannons provided trauma-informed technical education and workforce development services to 53 survivors across the United States. Participants received over 1,100 hours of instruction through 250+ class sessions, including beginner to advanced software development, career readiness, and algorithmic problem solving. The organization supported paid project-based apprenticeships, and deployed technology platforms to improve access to services and project opportunities for survivors and partner organizations. To increase long-term sustainability and expand its reach, AnnieCannons launched its Seven City Strategy, secured its first federal grant from the Department of Justice, and refactored its entire curriculum to integrate new technologies, new pedagogical methodologies, and new forms of trauma-informed practices. Through these accomplishments, AnnieCannons continues to advance economic justice and career equity for survivors of trafficking.
