Down the Stretch Ranch celebrated an extraordinary year in 2024, continuing its mission to care for retired thoroughbred racehorses and enrich the lives of its community. The ranch successfully adopted out 8 horses while maintaining a daily herd count of 30. Feeding the herd required 75 tons of hay and 8 tons of oats, ensuring the horses thrived as they roamed and grazed freely across 140 acres of land owned by the McCanna family. These accomplishments reflect the ranch's unwavering dedication to equine welfare and community impact as it enters its 10th year of operation in 2025.
The ranch hosted 83 veterans, over 30 children and families, and welcomed 36 overnight stays featuring horsemanship lessons, riding activities, and fishing experiences at Lake Roosevelt.
