SGAP Leaders empowers teens to become agents of change in their communities and beyond by thinking critically, applying STEM, and championing social impact. Our students 1) brainstorm about projects that they would like to lead (all projects must align with SGAP Leaders' mission), 2) develop a "plan of action," 3) recruit team members, and with guidance, 4) execute their projects. The process of designing, developing and executing their project, exposes our students to real-world challenging experiences such as team dysfunction, poor planning and execution. These challenging experiences are springboards for our students' growth and leadership development. The more we develop our students' ability to think critically, problem solve creatively and lead empathetically, the more successful our students will become. We are committed to rolling out our climate action curriculum to our students and schools from 2024-2026 to better prepare the students for climate-related careers.

Climate Clinics & Sustainability Exchange - We refined our ten-week Climate Change Curriculum to a six week in-person Climate Clinics with their Leadership Training Institute cohort, and six-week virtual Climate Clinics with the Kennedy High School Leadership Training Institute. The age range of the cohorts were from 13-18. The Clinics culminated with a modified Sustainability Exchange workshop focused on the mining for cobalt in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and food waste in the USA. The purpose of the Climate Clinics was to demonstrate SGAP's abilities to implement a longitudinal in-school program and to assess the clinics' effectiveness in engaging teens, and advancing their knowledge in climate-related issues, environmental activism.

Our Sustainability Fellows began to develop two in-person projects. Our FELLOWS lead their own project teams. All Fellows designed a project that focused on reducing Greenhouse Gases. Our fellows initiated and executed projects to develop their leadership skills. Fellows earned over 750 Community Service hours (SSL) hours by funding, planning, executing, managing and reporting their Greenware (recycling electronic waste), and Bike Day projects.

SGAP Leaders coached students from the Leadership Training Institute at Kennedy High School to present at the Montgomery County Public Schools' Climate Summit. Teens learned about civic engagement and the power of their voice. Lastly, SGAP Leaders' teens virtually participated in the Global Solutions Lab with our partner organization housed at Drexel University, and learned about the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
