Early Matters' primary activity is the facilitation of six (6) Working Groups with targeted sub goals to foster change in early childhood development and education. In addition to commission relevant research and data analysis, the working groups achieve outcomes including:1. Early Childhood Education Family Education & SupportExamine ways to coordinate efforts and support for increasing the number of high-quality early childcare centers and certified teachers in the region.2. Family Education and SupportExamine ways to coordinate efforts and support among coalition partners to encourage early learning focused on reading.3. Health Systems SupportExamine ways to coordinate efforts and support among pediatric-serving medical offices to encourage early learning focused on reading.4. Pre-Kindergarten Education Examine ways to coordinate efforts and support among education providers toward full enrollment of Pre-K in the region and encourage efforts to promote Pre-K readiness for young children.5. Kindergarten through 3rd Grade EducationExamine ways to coordinate efforts and support among education providers toward kindergarten readiness for young children and encourage efforts to promote reading on-level by third grade.6.
