SOUTHERN REINS CENTER FOR EQUINE THERAPY PROVIDED TRANSFORMATIVE EQUINE-ASSISTED SERVICES TO 231 INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND HARDSHIPS IN 2025 AND 274 TOTAL PARTICIPANTS WHEN INCLUDING OUR OUTREACH THROUGH PONY PALS. FROM AGES 2 TO 93, OUR PARTICIPANTS REPRESENTED 29 UNIQUE DIAGNOSES AND A DIVERSE COMMUNITY THAT WAS 47% FEMALE, 53% MALE, AND 3% ASIAN, 7% HISPANIC, 20% AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND 70% CAUCASIAN.WE DELIVERED 2,668 LESSONS TOTALING 1,970 INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS ACROSS OUR EIGHT PROGRAMS, INCLUDING ADAPTIVE HORSEBACK RIDING, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INCORPORATING HIPPOTHERAPY, MAKING STRIDES RECREATION THERAPY, EQUINE SERVICES FOR HEROES, BEYOND THE SADDLE UNMOUNTED ACTIVITIES, THE TEACH PROGRAM, PONY PALS, AND THE HORSEPOWER WORK-BASED LEARNING PROGRAM.SOUTHERN REINS AWARDED 34 SCHOLARSHIPS TO 33 UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS IN 2025, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED SINCE INCEPTION TO 373. OUR EQUINE SERVICES FOR HEROES PROGRAM SERVED 21 VETERANS THIS YEAR, BRINGING THE TOTAL SERVED TO 143. WE PARTNERED WITH 12 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING YOUTH VILLAGES, INDEV MEMPHIS, TIGERLIFE, MEMPHIS VA MEDICAL CENTER, AND PAGE ROBBINS ADULT DAY CENTER, TO EXPAND ACCESS TO OUR SERVICES.A DEDICATED TEAM OF 211 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS, INCLUDING 143 NEW VOLUNTEERS IN 2025, COMPLETED 1,868 SHIFTS AND CONTRIBUTED 9,360 HOURS OF SERVICE VALUED AT $325,634. SINCE INCEPTION, VOLUNTEERS HAVE CONTRIBUTED 75,350 HOURS OF SERVICE VALUED AT $2,621,427.THROUGH 2025, SOUTHERN REINS HAS SERVED 1,245 UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS THROUGH ONSITE PROGRAMS AND 1,776 TOTAL PARTICIPANTS INCLUDING COMMUNITY OUTREACH, SUPPORTED BY AN EXCEPTIONAL HERD OF 14 THERAPY HORSES.
