The Normandy Institute (the Institute) commissioned a monument dedicated to The Eighth Air Force (U.S.) and the critical role it played in the events of 1944 and beyond. The monument will consist of four life-size bronze airmen and will be unveiled during the annual D-Day Anniversary festivities in June 2025. Our efforts in this endeavor correlate with our educational goal of teaching the complete history of the Battle of Normandy so that succeeding generations can benefit from the lessons learned.

Celebrating the remaining veterans as part of the 80th D-Day Anniversary afforded the Institute the opportunity to stengthen bonds with key partners who are similarly aligned with our goals.
