April 30 May 1, 2023 High Plains Honor Flight took 117 veterans with 60 guardians to Washington DC to visit their memorials.In prior years, High Plains Honor Flight has taken more than 2960 veterans from World War II, The Korean War, The Vietnam War and Purple Heart recipients from more recent conflicts to Washington, DC to visit the Memorials built in their honor. This trip is no cost to the Veterans. The charter flights began in September 2008 and with the last flight in 2023, now total 24. This is an all-volunteer effort with over 1000 volunteer Guardians making these flights to assist the Veterans.
