THE WABAUNSEE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRESERVES AND PROMOTES THE HISTORY OF WABAUNSEE COUNTY BY WAY OF OPERATING A MUSEUM WHICH HOUSES ARTIFACTS PERTAINING TO WABAUNSEE COUNTY. THIS SERVICE AFFECTS THE 5,000-PLUS RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY AS WELL AS VISITORS NUMBERING OVER 1,000 PER YEAR. WE ALSO HAVE OUTREACH PROGRAMS WHERE STUDENTS IN THE LOCAL SCHOOLS ARE INVITED IN FOR A TOUR OF THE MUSEUM AND SURROUNDING AREAS OF INTEREST. QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS ARE MAILED OUT TO MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY TO KEEP THEM UPDATED ON ACTIVITIES AND EXHIBITS IN THE MUSEUM AS WELL AS HISTORICAL STORIES OF EVENT AND PEOPLE FROM WABAUNSEE COUNTY.
