PROVIDE AND FACILITATE PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION OF THOSE WITH DIABETES. PROVIDE EDUCATION MATERIALS FOR THOSE WITH DIABETES AND AT RISK FOR DIABETES. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE CRITICAL CARE FOR THOSE WITH DIABETES AND OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IF INDIVIDUALS ARE UNABLE TO PAY FOR SERVICES. A LARGE NUMBER OF OUR PATIENTS ARE UNINSURED OR UNDER INSURED AND ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY OTHER ENDOCRINE SPECIALISTS IN THE AREA. WE FACILITATE ACCESS TO PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR MEDICATIONS AS NEEDED AND PROVIDE CLINICAL CARE TO OVER 1000 INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING PROVIDING TELEMEDICINE SERVICES. WE ATTEND HEALTH FAIRS AND EVENTS ACROSS THE COUNTY FROM THREE OPEN STREET ICT EVENTS TO THE KANSAS STATE SCHOOL NURSE ASSOCIATION, BREAKTHROUGH T1D AND KIDNEY FOUNDATION. WE HOST A DAY CAMP FOR CHILDREN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 4TH GRADE WITH 19 ATTENDING IN 2024. WE HOSTED THE 9TH ANNUAL LIVE WELL WITH DIABETES EVENT IN NOVEMBER WHICH PROVIDES STATE OF THE ART DIABETES EDUCATION FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS ON FRIDAY (64 ATTENDEES) AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, FREE LAB TESTS, IMMUNIZATIONS, AND DIABETES EXHIBITORS FOR THE PUBLIC ON SATURDAY DURING DIABETES MONTH. THIS YEAR GPD MAINTAINS THE ADA EDUCATION RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE FOR THEIR DIABETES PROGRAM. IN ADDITION TO OUR BIMONTHLY EDUCATION SESSIONS, WE ALSO OFFERED LOW COST PUBLIC EDUCATION IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY. WE HAVE FOUR DIABETES EDUCATORS INCLUDING A DIETICIAN ON STAFF, AS WELL AS FOUR ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES.
