EVA chapters focused on public EV education by organizing ride-and-drive events and/or collaborating with community groups hosting festivals, STEM activities, parades, and celebrations of, for example, Earth Day. EVA chapters sponsored 63 of 150 Drive Electric Earth month events held across the country in April. EVA was a national partner organizing the events along with Plug In America. EVA chapters hosted 15 test drive events in seven states in April and September/October, at which visitors experienced their first drive/s behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. The events met and/or exceeded our funding partner's requirement of at least 50 test drives at each event and/or attendance of 1,000 or more people at each event. EVA provided operational support for 48 volunteer-led chapters in 32 states and nearly 1,300 individual members; support and services include accounts payable/receivable, event insurance, leader training, EV education materials, coordination with funding partners for grants and contracts to fund EVA events, and provision of business systems for accounting, payments, communications, and marketing.
