SOCIAL SERVICES: FACILITATES OPTIMAL AGING IN PLACE FOR HUNTINGTON BEACH RESIDENTS. DIRECT SERVICES INCLUDE CARE MANAGEMENT, HOME DELIVERY OF MEALS, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, MOBILITY AND HOME SAFETY SUPPORT, FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO MAINTAIN HOUSING, AND EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL SUPPORT. MOST SERVICES ARE TARGETED TOWARD OLDER ADULTS WHO ARE UNDER-SUPPORTED AND HAVE LOWER INCOMES. IN 2024, 1060 UNDUPLICATED PEOPLE WERE SERVED AND OVER 6400 POINTS OF CONTACT WERE MADE THROUGH CARE MANAGEMENT. HOME DELIVERED MEALS COORDINATED AND DELIVERED OVER 81,500 MEALS TO A TOTAL OF 199 UNDUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS IN 2024. THERE ARE NO COSTS TO CUSTOMERS, DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED. HBCOA PROVIDES FUNDS TOWARD STAFFING OF THREE PART-TIME CITY POSITIONS, SUPPORT OF EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEMS, SUPPORT TOWARD 400 VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDES SUPPORT IN ALL AREAS OF THE SENIOR CENTER, AND DIRECT GOODS PURCHASED FOR LOW-INCOME,ONGOING CLIENTS.
