Activities include:Congregate Meal ProgramThe City of Poway and Friends of Poway Seniors have partnered together to bring the highly anticipated Congregate Meal Program to our community! With delicious food provided by Charlies Classic Cooking, the Congregate Meal Program is the perfect place to share a meal with family, friends, and new acquaintances.The nutrition program consists of a congregate dining program that serves a hot lunch to the elderly in Poway and the greater Poway Valley. Lunch is a restaurant-style dining center, Monday through Friday, held at the Community Park, Oak Hall West.In-house hot lunch is served daily Monday through Friday, prepared in the facility kitchen.ActivitiesActivities include physical, mental, intellectual, creative classes/meeting lectures including the following:- Cards/Games - Poker, bridge, party bridge, other card games, Mah Jong board games and jigsaw puzzles.- Creative Arts/Hand Crafts (B.Y.O.C.) - Needle crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting and watercolor painting.- Physical - Feeling fit exercise, Qigong, Line Dancing, Silver Age Yoga, and walking.- Group Meetings - PACE TV, SD Knit and Crochet Guild, Weight loss and Whats Your Opinion.- Social Services - Offers donation-based, low-to-no-cost nutritious lunches to seniors 60 and above.- Social Events - Silver Screeniacs Monthly Movie Series, Bingo, fundraising, blood drives, volunteerism, monthly and seasonal lectures on financial, legal, medical, health, defensive driving, current events discussions, and genealogy.
