THE ROTARY CLUB OF CLEARWATER CHARITIES, INC. (RCC CHARITIES) FUNCTIONS TO ASSIST THE ROTARY CLUB OF CLEARWATER AND ITS MEMBERS IN RAISING FUNDS TO SUPPORT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES IN AND AROUND THE CITY OF CLEARWATER AND TO ACT AS CUSTODIAN FOR CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUAL ROTARIANS AND OTHERS. THOSE FUNDS ARE HELD UNTIL THE BOARD OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF CLEARWATER PROVIDES DIRECTION ON WHICH CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES ARE SELECTED FOR FUNDING. FINAL APPROVAL IS PROVIDED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF RCC CHARITIES BEFORE ANY FUNDS ARE EXPENDED.(CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)EACH YEAR, THE CHARITIES SELECTION COMMITTEE OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF CLEARWATER (CLUB) SELECTS WORTHY LOCAL AND ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CAUSES TO SUPPORT. CHARITABLE FUNDS ARE RAISED THROUGH FUNDRAISING EVENTS. IN ADDITION TO SUPPORTING CHARITIES FINANCIALLY, CLUB MEMBERS PROVIDE NUMEROUS CHARITIES WITH THE GIFT OF THEIR TIME AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY.THE CLUB AND RCC CHARITIES IS PROUD TO HAVE SUPPORTED THE FOLLOWING LOCAL CHARITIES AS RECIPIENTS OF OUR ANNUAL CHARITY GRANTS FOR FISCAL 2024: READING IS FUNDAMENTAL, ROTARY CLUB OF WESLEY CHAPEL, AND S4TL (SEMINAR FOR TOMORROW'S LEADERS).

EACH YEAR, SENIORS FROM A LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL ARE REWARDED $2,500 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CONTINUING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION COSTS. THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GRANTED TO YOUTH WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL CHARACTER AND RESILIENCE WHILE SUCCEEDING DESPITE THE ODDS IN DIFFICULT HOMES, HEALTH, OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. MANY STUDENTS WHO WIN THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE THE FIRST MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILY TO ATTEND COLLEGE. SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED ARE PAID DIRECTLY TO THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION.
