In its Celebrating Whistleblowers Program, NWC educates decision makers and the public about the importance of whistleblowers to preserving democracy and the rule of law. NWC carries out a wide array of educational activities ranging from TV appearances to carrying out briefings for foreign dignitaries arranged by the State Department. In addition, each year NWC organizes a National Whistleblower Appreciation Day event on Capitol Hill. At this event, attended by roughly twohundred fifty whistleblowers and their supporters and covered by major news organizations including C-SPAN and Fox News, prominent whistleblowers and whistleblower advocates join with top policy makers from Congress and federal agencies to honor the contributions of whistleblowers to democracy and the rule of law.
