Northeast Regional Early Intervention Collaborative Inc

The Northeast Regional Early Interventsion Collaborative, Inc. was established in 1993 through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health to provide leadership in the planning and coordinating of New Jerseys Early Intervention System in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties. Our goal is to facilitate access and availability of effective early intervention services to families and providers through collaboration, family support, family involvement, outreach and technical assistance. Data collection, training and technical assistance, family support and assistance wuth referral through transition help to enhance families capacity to meet the developmental needs of their eligible infant and toddler (birth to age three) who has special needs. The NREIC receives over 7,500 referral calls each year. In response to the needs of families raising infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties, the NREIC created the Special Needs Fund. The Fund helps needs families pay for adaptive equipment, conferences, educational toys, participation in enrichment programs with non-disabled peers and more. The Fund does not cover the costs of direct services or items available from other resources. Income and the nature of the request are considered, with a priority given to the financially disadvantaged. The Special Needs Fund is supported solely through tax-deductible donations or fundraising events. One hundred and forty-one families were award recipients in 2025.
