WE PROMOTE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT THROUGH OUR FREE OF CHARGE AND REDUCED TICKET PRICED PERFORMANCES AT THEATERS AND MUSEUMS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING WHICH SERVES OVER 7,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS EACH YEAR, 5,000 IN THE DMV AND 2,000 NATIONALLY. OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE LECTURE DEMONSTRATIONS AT PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AT LIFELONG LEARNERS COMMUNITIES, AND AT LIBRARIES AMONG OTHERS. WE ALSO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL BOOKLETS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.ORIGINS: YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS, WHICH OFFERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO THOSE INTERESTED IN CHOREOGRAPHY TO HAVE WORKS REVIEWED BY DANA TAI SOON BURGESS AND INVITED STUDIO AUDIENCES. WE PROMOTE DANCE EDUCATION AS THE CURRICULAR ADVISOR FOR THE DCPS SCHOOL WITHOUT WALLS DANCE PROGRAM AND AS THE DIRECTORS OF THE LOWER, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL MODERN DANCE PROGRAMS AT THE INDEPENDENT GEORGETOWN DAY SCHOOL (GDS). THIS YEAR WE EXPANDED OUR TEACHING TO THE MARYLAND YOUTH BALLET IN SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND.
