The organization's primary exempt purpose is to assist men in transitioning from life in prison to life in society as productive, law abiding citizens. This is accomplished by providing temporary housing, job placement services, emotional, spiritual & financial support & counseling. Having this level of support has the proven result of fewer men returning to prison after their release.

A major change occurred in 2022. We entered into negotiations with HopeWorks, a 501(c)(3) organization, to assume responsibility for the operation of this ministry. We reached an agreement with them. They officially assumed operations at the end of business on April 30, 2022. At that time the process began for all of the assets to be transferred to HopeWorks and to file documents with the Tennessee Secretary of State and other state offices to terminate Transitions Halfway Ministries. All documents were filed and accepted by 9/30/22.
We re-established the recruiting mechanisms necessary for prison visits post COVID to offer invitations to prison inmates to begin their post prison transition period with Forgiveness House.
Established new operating procedures with the Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry for daily operations to be supervised by HopeWorks.
