GIRL SCOUTS OF THE COLONIAL COAST (GSCCC) IS ONE OF 111 GIRL SCOUT COUNCILS CHARTERED BY GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA, THE WORLD'S LEADING ORGANIZATION DEDICATED SOLELY TO GIRLS, AND ADVOCATING FOR GIRLS, FOR MORE THAN 113 YEARS. GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA IS ONE OF NEARLY 100 EDUCATIONAL AND CIVIC FOCUSED YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS THAT IS FEDERALLY CHARTERED BY CONGRESS. THE GIRL SCOUT MISSION IS TO BUILD GIRLS OF COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, AND CHARACTER, WHO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CARING ADULTS, GIRLS DEVELOP QUALITIES TO SERVE THEM ALL THEIR LIVES; STRONG VALUES, SOCIAL CONSCIENCE, AND CONVICTION ABOUT THEIR POTENTIAL AND SELF-GROWTH. GSCCC SERVES JUST OVER 6,800 GIRLS THROUGHOUT SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA AND NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA WITH THE GUIDANCE OF NEARLY 3,700 DEDICATED AND TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. FROM EXPLORING SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT TO LEARNING ABOUT HEALTH LIVING, ANTI-BULLYING AND FINANCIAL LITERACY, GIRLS ARE GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES TO BE CHALLENGED AND LEARN NEW SKILLS.
