THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SUPPORT AND APPRECIATION TO THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS AND STAFF BY PROVIDING ROUTINE MORALE SUPPORT BYWAY OF MEALS, RECOGNITION EVENTS AND SIMILAR SUPPORT. SUPPORT INCLUDES FUNDING SPECIFIC REQUESTS OF THE DEPARTMENT. ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT SUPPORT PROGRAMS IS THE HOUSING ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES ELIGIBLE POLICE OFFICERS HOUSING ASSISTANCE (RENTAL OR HOME PURCHASE). THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO ELIGIBLE POLICE OFFICERS IN SUPPORT OF THEIR CAREERS IN PUBLIC SAFETY.
