CancerLINC connects cancer patients with volunteer attorneys, financial advisors, and other resources to help them with legal and financial matters that result from their cancer diagnoses. CancerLINC is a greater Richmond area nonprofit organization with the mission of helping cancer patients and their families overcome legal and financial obstacles when they need it the most. In fiscal year 2024, CancerLINC helped 750 patients with almost 1,000 legal and financial issues resulting from their disease. These patients were connected with over 160 professionals and others resources, whose services are provided on a pro bono basis to help these patients address the problems they face - medical debt, eviction, bankruptcy, employment insecurity, benefit denials, and similar situations. Additionally, CancerLINC provides life planning legal services such as preparing wills, power of attorney forms, etc., for cancer patients. CancerLINC does not charge for its services, relying on fundraising, special events and grant funding from foundations and corporations to support its work.

CancerLINC provides outreach and education services including: 1) staffing VCU Massey Cancer Center through a Medical Legal Partnership and holding scheduled meetings with patients at other centers to provide counseling and referrals for cancer patients conveniently within the medical setting; 2) providing information and education to health professionals and community groups; 3) participating in seminars for cancer patients, legal and health professionals and the public on legal and financial issues; 4) providing information through the website, social media posts, online videos, and at health fairs.
