Choralis is pleased to highlight key artistic accomplishments including four 2024-25 concerts, three community summer singing events, and five musicological webinars. One artistic highlight was the May 2025 World Premiere performance of British composer, Bob Chilcotts The Rainbow, jointly commissioned by Choralis and The Childrens Chorus of Washington and published by Oxford University Press. Intended to foster intergenerational singing, the lyrics encourage singers and listeners to be their true selves. Choralis also organized another successful Ovations choral music awards program. The May 2025 event was attended by representatives of 20 area choruses. The Board decided to hire an Executive Director, David Welch, effective July 1, 2025, to further professionalize the organization and free the Artistic Director from some administrative and fundraising responsibilities. Gretchen Kuhrmann, founder and Artistic Director of Choralis for 25 years this fiscal year, announced her retirement effective at the end of the 25-26 season. The Board successfully completed a search process for a new Artistic Director, with a June 2025 announcement that Todd Fickley will return to Choralis as Artistic Director in June 2026.
