We also offer workshops to teachers to incorporate simple yoga techniques and mindfulness training into their teaching.With no need for high cost equipment or a large space, Bent On Learning yoga classes are an excellent alternative for phys ed in urban public schools where space, athletic equipment and funds are limited Bent On Learning gives children who need physical activity the most -those who tend to be sidelined by competitive sports- an opportunity for exercise in a supportive, non-competitive environment Bent On Learning's yoga education program includes a written, 15-week lesson plan for three different age levels(Grades K-3, 4-8 and 9-12), student handouts with illustrated poses, tools for students to evaluate their fitness levels, and a take-home mat for each student to encourage a regular practice Bent On Learning yoga classes are aligned with New York State and National Physical Education Standards. Bent On Learning hires only qualified yoga teachers with a minimum of seven years of practice and teacher certification Bent On Learning offers a support network for yoga teachers to share their experience and wisdom
