THIS YEAR THE PROGRAM SERVED 140 STUDENTS FROM 25 ETHNIC GROUPS THROUGH ITS SUMMER AND AFTER SCHOOL LITERACY AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMS. 137 STUDENTS ADVANCED ON AVERAGE 4.65 LEXIA LEVELS. 104 STUDENTS IMPROVED IN ONE LIFE SKILL DOMAIN ACCORDING TO A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING INSTRUMENT. 19 STUDENTS IMPROVED THEIR READING ABILITY BY TWO GRADE LEVELS IN ONE ACADEMIC YEAR. 24 YOUTH ENGAGES IN SUMMER WORK EXPERIENCES OVERSEEN BY NATIONS MINISTRY AND EARNED 38,000 IN WAGES. 12 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN PAID INTERNSHIPS. NATIONS MINISTRY CENTER ALSO PROVIDED MEANINGFUL ENRICHMENT EVENTS, CHRISTMAS PRESENTS AND NEW SHOES, NUTRITIOUS FOOD, BOOKS, AND PARENT WORKSHOPS.
