222 people were registered to attend our 2024 Annual Meeting and Scientific Session, which took place in Asheville, NC September 26-29 2024. All of these were psychiatric physicians and other healthcare professionals. One of NCPA's missions is to promote the science, art and practice of psychiatry. Our meeting began as expected, but was ultimately cancelled on Friday, September 27 due to Hurricane Helene after losing power, water and cell service. We refunded registration fees and exhibitor fees and filed an event insurance claim for the lost revenue. We received an insurance payout in the amount of $147,462.63.

NCPA maintains and revises its website and publishes communications for its nearly 1,000 members. These communication vehicles include resources for members to aid in their practice and to provide information on policy and healthcare changes. The website also includes sections for the general public with resources and a searchable database for locating physicians across the state. The print newsletter is printed quarterly and mailed to member homes/offices for the purpose of providing in-depth coverage of clinical and policy issues for members and enhancing member value.
