Maha Shiv Raatri - Three days program was organized by the management for a visiting priest to give sermon to the members and devotees on teachings of scripture Shiv Puran. Priest recited certain verses from the scripture and explained the significance of it. Priest sung bhajans and the devotees chorused with him. Prasad (sacrament) was offered to lord Shiva and later it was served to the devotees. Food was also served to the people present that was donated by the members. All the cost for the program was sponsored by the members for which no receipt was turned in for reimbursement. About 150 people showed up every day during the program. Ram Naumi - Celebrate Lord Ramas birthday. This was nine days event and each day almost 130 devotees showed up. Priest recited verse from Ramayan scripture and explained the purpose of Lord Rama coming upon earth to get rid of evil forces and re-establish peace on earth. Taught our youths importance of respecting parents and others also expressed on the importance of education. Prasad (sacrament) was offered to Lord Rama and later served to the people. All the cost for food and organizing the program was absorbed by the devotees. No receipt was submitted to the management so there was no cost to the organization. Krishna Astami - Celebrate Lord Krishna coming upon earth to defeat evil forces and restore peace. About 150 people showed up daily for the nine-day event. Priest gave sermon on Bhagwat Gita and Shrimadh Bhagwat Puran. Explained at great length the teachings of the scripture where respect to parents and others were very important. Taught importance of regular exercise among all and always ready for self-defense. All cost for sacrament and food were provided by various members of the organization.
