Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation services include support and financial assistance for veterans and their families through the following functions: (1) Poppy Programs - This function raises funds through the distribution of the symbolic red poppies to support active-duty military, veterans, and their families. (2) Special Rehabilitation Fund - This Fund is a vehicle by which all South Carolina ALA units donate annually to the American Legion to benefit veterans. (3) Christmas Gift Shops - These shops are locaed at the VA hospitals where gifts are purchased and then distributed to VA patients.

The national conventions are the legislative body of the American Legion Auxilary. The convention is held for the purpose of electing officer for the ensuing year, amending the Constitution and the Bylaws, receiving reports of the officers and committees, and for the transaction of such other business as is necessary.
