THE FOOTLIGHT PLAYERS WAS FOUNDED IN 1931 AND IS THE OLDEST CONTINUOUSLY PERFORMING COMMUNITY THEATRE IN SOUTH CAROLINA. THE MISSION OF FOOTLIGHT PLAYERS IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY, AFFORDABLE, BARRIER-FREE COMMUNITY THEATRE OF A PROFESSIONAL CALIBER FOR THE CITIZENS OF CHARLESTON AND NEIGHBORING COUNTIES, AND TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL VOLUNTEERS TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ASPECTS OF THEATRE PRODUCTION. FURTHERMORE, FOOTLIGHT IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES AND FACILITIES FOR OTHER ARTISTS TO PRODUCE, PERFORM, AND CREATE.
