An estimated 900 students across 24 different schools in our Spartanburg community were positively impacted by our Mini Grants for Teacher program. Projects across various areas from literacy to STEAM were funded in the hopes of providing a well-rounded educational experience for our future. Our League hosted six General Membership Meetings where members received training on topics of leadership, fund development, and awareness of nonprofits in our community. Each meeting concluded with a service project. Members packed candy bags to distribute to 200 children who participated in our community's Miracle League's Trunk of Treat. Members were also able to volunteer their time with this organization. Members packed feminine hygiene products for the local Period Project chapter that distributes the packs to local schools and public spaces such as the libraries in our county. Members also packed items for "warm bags" to hand out to the less fortunate that attend classes at our local YMCA. Over 1,000 volunteer hours were recorded by 38 active members and included members active in our community or participating in JLS supported events. These events included Girls on the Run 5K celebration, Miracle League's Trunk or Treat, PS I Love You Ministries wardrobe, Christmas present wrapping for Hope Center for Children, and event support for PAL. Volunteers planned and executed all membership and community impact events.
