The YMCA provides a healthy, wholesome, recreational environment for its nearly 5,000 members and over 10,000 program participants. The YMCA serves the entire Florence County community and financial assistance is provided through scholarships available for those who cannot afford to pay. The mission of helping individuals grow in body and mind was delivered to the PeeDee Region via swim and fitness classes, child care, youth and adult sports, as well as special programs for families of migrant parents, and disadvantaged and handicapped persons. These programs develop core values, leadership skills, and interaction among disparate groups. The YMCA welcomes everyone, regardless of age, race, sex, faith, ethnicity, ability or religion. Dues are based on community affordability and financial assistance is available for those who cannot afford to pay.
