GIUMSC operates 41 retail stores and 48 donation centers (most are located within our retail stores). Sales from our retail stores are the primary source of income for GIUMSC (gross sales of $55,214,929), enabling us to provide education and training services for individuals within the communities we serve. During the 2024-2025 fiscal year (FY25), GIUMSC served 7,968 individuals through its career and training services, which placed 6,203 individuals into competitive employment, exceeding its placement goal of 6,120. The overall placement rate for participants served was 78% with an average hourly wage of $15.84. Our retail stores also play a key role in our mission; they often serve as training sites for individuals participating in GIUMSC's programs and offer long-term employment opportunities for associates across our 16-county service area. Additionally, GIUMSC served 1,421,714 donors, resulting in the reuse, resale, recycling, and diversion of more than 42 million pounds of goods from landfills through our sustainability efforts.

In FY25, individualized employment services were delivered through our 16 Career and Training Centers, including resume development workshops, job search and placement assistance, computer training workshops, employer engagement, job fairs, hiring events, and referrals to industry-specific training programs. GIUMSC offered these opportunities through the following five career pathways: clean technology, transportation and logistics, healthcare, skilled trades, and information technology. These trainings equip participants with credentials for in-demand careers within SC.
