YMCA AQUATICS: PROGRAMS PROMOTE HEALTHY EXERCISE, SWIMMING AND WATER SAFETY SKILLS. THEY ALSO PROMOTE TEAMWORK, SELF-CONFIDENCE AND LEADERSHIP. ALL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. YMCA YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS: PROMOTE AN APPRECIATION OF ONE'S OWN WORTH. WHATEVER THE SPORT, THE FOCUS IS ON FULL AND EQUAL PARTICIPATION OF ALL IN THAT EVERY CHILD PLAYS IN EVERY GAME. LEAGUES ARE ORGANIZED ON THE BASIS OF SKILLS CLINICS. WIN OR LOSE, YMCA YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS EMPHASIZE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILL, HEALTH AND FITNESS, SAFETY, COOPERATION, SELF-ESTEEM AND RESPECT FOR OTHERS. YMCA CHILD CARE: THE CENTRAL FOCUS IS TO FOSTER GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, NOT ONLY IN CHILDREN BUT ALSO IN THEIR PARENTS AND FAMILIES. THESE EDUCATION PROGRAMS HELP KIDS DEVELOP MORAL AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR, SELF-ESTEEM, AND LEADERSHIP. PARENTS PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN POLICY AND PROGRAM DECISIONS. IN MANY INSTANCES, YMCA CHILD CARE ALLOWS THE PARENTS TO REMAIN GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, KNOWING THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE THRIVING IN A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT. CARE IS PROVIDED ON A BELOW-COST BASIS.
