Habitat homeowners put in hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" helping build their home and the homes of others in the program. Additionally, Habitat offers home buyers an affordable mortgage. Their mortgage payments cycle back into the community to help build more affordable houses. The Women Build Program was established in 1998 to encourage the involvement of more women in the construction of Habitat homes in their communities. The program provides women the opportunity to learn useful, lifelong skills while meeting and helping other women and benefiting Aiken County communities.
