Mission

TO PROMOTE APPRECIATION OF SYMPHONIC PIECES OF MUSIC THROUGHOUT LIVE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FOR OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN BEAUFORT COUNTY. WITHIN OUR BSO MISSION, WE HAVE ADDED A SPECIFIC FOCUS. THE PRODIGY PROJECT'S MISSION IS TO GIVE YOUNG TALENTED MUSICIANS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM WITH A FULL SYMPHONY FOR THE FIRST TIME AND TO BRING THEIR TALENTS TO OUR BEAUFORT COMMUNITY! IN ADDITION, OUR MISSION IS TO TEACH YOUNG MUSICIANS THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION OF OUR BEAUFORT YOUTH ORCHESTRA. THE BYO MISSION IS TO EDUCATE STUDENTS ON THE SKILLS OF PERFORMING WITH AN ORCHESTRA, ON THE MUSICAL REPERTOIRE OF THE GREAT COMPOSERS, (I.E. BEETHOVEN, MOZART, BACH), AND ON DEVELOPING AN APPRECIATION FOR MUSIC, WHICH WE HOPE WILL INSPIRE THEM FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
