Form 990, Part III, Line 4a-4d - Other Program Service Description: Viver Brasil performances and artistry are empowered by principles of cultural equity, race, resistance and resilence with an aesthetic that mediates 21st century African Diaspora art reflected in all of our work. Additionally, we partner with Disney California Adventure for an annual production with over 30 dancers and musicians. Our robust education and community programming includes: I. K-12 Arts Education Residencies teaching Afro-Brazilian dance and music during the school day or as an after school program; II. Celebrating Samba, an educational performance that explores orixa dance, capoeira, samba, Bahian carnival with live music and an interactive dance workshop with a Q&A for students and community members; III. Samba in the Streets, a free community engagement program that uses dance and music as a tool to develop dialogue on issues of social justice and racial equity; IV. Community Classes offers free year round Afro-Brazilian dance classes taught by members of the company; V. Dancing at the Source, a 15-day cultural immersion to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in August of each year.
